About the Laborers Eastern Region Organizing Fund

The Laborers' Eastern Regional Organizing Fund (LEROF) is the organizing arm of the District Councils and local unions of the Easter Region of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA).  We work in Delaware, New Jersey, the five boroughs of New York City, and Long Island.  LEROF promotes all workers' rights to safe jobsites, fair wages and good benefits by actively organizing new members and signing new contractors. Since our founding in 1997, LEROF has participated in some of the nation's most successful union organizing campaigns.

Our members and our organization are an integral part of communities in our region.  We build the places where your families live, work and play.  We work in post offices and teach in schools.  We keep our communities safe by decontaminating buildings of asbestos and lead.  Our staff and members are uniquely qualified to promote social justice through campaigns that ensure quality construction, protect the public from toxins, and consider local concerns.

About New York ACORN

ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, is the nation's largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, working together for social justice and stronger communities. Since 1970, ACORN has grown to more than 220,000 member families, organized in 850 neighborhood chapters in over 100 cities across the U.S. and in cities in Canada, the Dominican Republic and Peru.

New York ACORN is one of the largest chapters with over 30,000 member families in the five boroughs of New York City.  They have championed the cause of affordable housing around the city and have actively been engaged in affordable housing development, tenant and community organizing.
